He’s lucky as sin, and we’re playing for keeps.

Seven Delaney runs his corner of Dragonfly Hollow with the insufferable arrogance you’d expect from someone born lucky. The sexy billionaire is responsible for the most humiliating experience of my life and is the reason I fled that fae city sixteen years ago.

But living as an undocumented fae among humans isn’t easy. When a high-stakes poker game goes terribly wrong, I end up in more trouble than I can handle. Returning to Dragonfly Hollow is my only way out, but there’s a price. Seven needs my help, and my unique talents, to solve a murder that threatens his fortune as well as our kind’s tenuous relationship with humans.

I promised myself I’d never get involved with him again, but his dark charms prove hard to resist. Playing Seven for my heart is going to take more than a gambling strategy. It’s going to take luck—and lots of it.

What I can’t figure out is if this is the worst thing that could ever happen to me... or the luckiest.

Lucky me for getting this book to read and review, oh and Lucky Me also happens to be the first book in the series.

Sixteen years ago, Sophia Larkspur left Dragonfly Hollow a village in Devashire pregnant by a human and for the sixteen years she has been gone she has raised her daughter Arden. She has been an undocumented fae living among humans and using the name Soho Lane. She has survived playing poker and of course as a pixie she has won more than she has lost until the night everything changes. With four aces and a sure win she loses to a man with a Royal Flush, a man she immediately recognizes as an agent for Fairy Immigration and Rehabilitation Enforcement Agency (FIRE). With no other recourse she runs but Agent Donovan catches up and she finds herself a prisoner.

Agent Donovan enjoys his job way too much especially the torture part. He wants her to assist in finding a killer he knows is fae but a fire in the building gives her the chance for an escape. Arden called her grandmother and grandfather for help and now the two of them find themselves in Devashire. The person who broke her heart and was the reason she left; Seven Delaney is the one who has bought her freedom. It was forbidden for a leprechaun to date a pixie even though Seven and Sophia had been seeing each other for two years and at the Yule Ball they decided to reveal that they were a couple. Seven was a no-show leaving Sophia hurt and embarrassed.

Now she is back and apparently owes him and when she meets the Godmother, the big boss she will have another debt to pay. Leprechauns are beautiful, lucky and very, very rich but why would he pay for her mistake and how will she pay him back. Obviously, the Godmother has the answer she is required to assist Seven in a security problem at his beck and call until it is solved. A murder that sounds very much like the one Donovan was talking about. The search for a killer puts Seven and Sophia together and she has to fight not to give in to his plea for them to get back together. Why he didn’t show up is revealed and it was sad but pixies are considered second class citizens and any relationship they would have would be a secret. Arden is Sophia’s first and only concern so any decision she makes has to be good for her or it is a no go.

This book was in this reviewer’s opinion amazing. Secrets, surprises, lies, betrayal, romance, bigotry and a murder mystery all I can say is WOW. I can’t wait till January 17 when book two is supposed to be released and I will ready to continue Sophia and Seven’s story. I haven’t read any books where a leprechaun is the main character and my impression of them has always been the one on Lucky Charms but wow was I wrong.
