Ashling Donoghue has almost lost hope of finding her missing parents. As her faith wanes, her love for two men waxes, rending her heart and causing friction in the Breasal household. The time has come to make a choice, to create a future untarnished by doubt. But how can she embrace the light when lured by the soft seduction of shadow?

At last, her brother Conall channels the Spear of Illumination. He’s a natural shapeshifter, and he sees through illusions in both the material world and the Otherworld…not a moment too soon. An ancient evil has surfaced, and it threatens all worlds.

Only the Donoghues can save Ireland. They must face their greatest fears and act as one to fulfill their destinies as guardians of Erin.

This is the final book in this wonderful series, a series that must be read in order and now all four books are published and you will not have to wait for answers to the questions each book leaves you with.

This was a series where the Donoghue children, twins Kian, Conall and sisters Ashling and Deidre search Ireland for their parents who went missing and who one by one learn of their individual powers, powers that will save Ireland from the wind demon, Aoife and other creatures that wish to destroy everyone and everything.

Ashling is still dealing with her love for two men, Lorcan and Aengus while trying to join her siblings in fighting the evil that Aoife is unleashing. Aoife intends to free Crom Cruach and it is unclear whether the four saviors of Ireland will be strong enough. Their travels take them on a magical ride through the past and the present where evil meets them, hellhounds, gargoyles and demons. Hugh tries to help but he has a big problem which I will not reveal.

This series was full of folklore, evil, secrets and surprises. We watch as the four saviors grow and learn how to use their powers all while trying to deal with evil and protect those around them. Each sibling has someone they love but their past lives get in the way. This series was an exciting ride that I would highly recommend to everyone.
