Elva Boyd, an extroverted elf, uses bees and honey to treat patients in pain. Art Klarastos, an introverted demi-god, beekeeper, and inventor is her best friend. When Elva’s beehives disappear, Art beelines to her to deliver the news. Distressed, Elva pleads for his assistance with the mystery of the missing boxes. Kit Kat, his matchmaking talking cat, makes a deal with Elva: Art will help her in exchange for a real date.

Art is mortified, but Elva agrees without hesitation. While they attempt to deduce why someone might want to steal her bees’ homes, a couple arrives and claims to be Elva’s long-lost parents. An orphan raised in Cat’s Paw Cove by her aunt and uncle, Elva is ecstatic. Suspicious of these unknown elves, Art shares his concerns—but Elva tunes out his buzzing.

When her parents declare they have come to take her home to Scotland for her contractually obligated wedding, Art is devastated. Will his best friend leave with her newfound family and soon-to-be-husband? Or will he be able to convince her that he is the beekeeper of her heart?

This novella came just at the perfect time, a rainy dark day when I definitely needed something to brighten my mood and it did. Cat’s Paw Cove, FlorIda is just the place where I would love to be, filled with Sherwood cats and amazing characters.

Elva Boyd was raised by her aunt and uncle the owners of Feline Fine Retirement Home and at the age of ten she met Art Klarastos whose parents had just bought a summer home in Cat’s Paw Cove. Every summer they spent together until Art came of age and took over the summer cottage to live permanently near his best friend who he is afraid to admit he loves for fear of running their friendship of course, Elva feels the same way and it would take their cats, Romeo and Kit Kat to finally get them moving in the right direction.

Trouble rears its ugly head when Elva’s beehives are taken, they are not only something she loves but the honey is important in her healing. Elva is a healing elf and Romeo her cat is the only feline able to diagnose human ailments using his “CAT scan” lol. Like so many of the Sherwood cats we have in this series Romeo has a “catitude” my very own description of them and he definitely made me laugh throughout this book.

Stolen beehives, a visit from Elva’s parents who were presumed dead and the obnoxious Prince Scott who she is betrothed to make an unexpected visit. Prince Scott is like a child with a new toy, freedom from his powerful father the king of the Unseelie. Elva and Art have just admitted to loving each other but what are they to do when she is to marry another, well I am not saying.

This novella like all the books in the Cat’s Paw Cove series are fun and a must read. I can’t wait for more.
