Maddy became a librarian, which allowed her to manage her OCD in a structured environment. One night leaving to go home she was kidnapped and found herself tied to cement walls in a warehouse. Her kidnapper was a monster with wings and white eyes, named Praevus and she was no longer on Earth but in a place called Angor. Praevus was a Mind Rat and attempted to invade Maddy’s thoughts, but she successfully resisted his intrusion. Eventually, she found herself unbound with an open door, yet unsure of her surroundings. Angor was filled with all types of scourges and with no other option she found an abandoned car to hide in.
When she encountered three adversaries, she immediately recognized the gravity of her situation. Fortunately, Dominion (Dom) a Feard who was created by the OneCreator to keep peace in a place filled with danger found her before she was harmed. The Feard were looking for her since a snitch gave her location and kidnapper to them. She is a human who appeared at first to be normal until one surprise after another proved she was not.
Maddy was a Sycophant and one of the triggers that Praevus implanted in her brain began to appear. She became obsessed with Dom obeying whatever he told her and wanting to have an intimate relationship with him. As a Syc she was normal one minute and abnormal the next and it wasn’t until Dom was sure she was in a normal state that he had sex with her.
Dom kept his feelings hidden for centuries until he met Maddy, leading to inevitable pain. He helped clear Maddy’s mind so she could return to Earth. The search for Praevus continues, uncovering multiple mysteries. Despite facing many challenges, Maddy is ready to go home, but an unexpected surprise awaits. This surprise was the one that could change everything for Maddy.
Surprises, secrets, violence, sex and winged assassins. Another start to an amazing new series from an author I love and can’t wait for more. Every book I have read from this author has been excellent and I am happy to have another new series to look forward to.
