Arizona circa 1888 may be a fun place to visit, but the Time Capsule Fantasy Resort didn’t mean to crash land there.

It’s up to Walter Doyle, inventor of the new technology, to find and repair the missing cloaking device without altering the timeline. Easier said than done when he runs into a real-life, real-sexy Annie Oakley named Sadie. From the moment she points her shotgun at him, he’s smitten.

All Sadie Rogers wants is to be left alone to mind her ranch and her son, something the men in town wouldn’t be keen on if they found out her husband was dead. Keeping a low profile gets more complicated when the handsome Wally shows up on a hush-hush mission from Washington. When his top-secret contraption kills a man on Sadie’s property, she hides the evidence. Though, she might be convinced to turn the thing over in exchange for Wally posing as her new fiancé to help save her ranch…

With sabotage afoot and a town full of corrupt cowboys and nosy neighbors, can Wally and Sadie find a way to solve both their problems? Maybe. But they’ll create an even bigger one while trying—how to hold on to love that transcends time itself.

Walter Doyle is the inventor of a time machine and a cloaking device but it all belongs to Bennet Systems the company that paid for everything. Now Time Capsule Resort is about to take its first trip back in time to Arizona in 1888. One hundred twenty-seven patrons and crew are about to take the trip of a life time but things do not go as planned. The machine crashed is off course and the cloaking device is nowhere to be seen so Doyle is sent out to find it.

Sadie Rogers has kept the secret of her husband’s death for two years knowing that the ranch is in his name and as a woman alone and with an eleven-year-old son she would lose everything. A visit from Eli Wheeler advising her that he knows her husband is dead is there to lay claim to her and the ranch only the missing cloaking device is missing no more because it wound up taking Eli’s head off. Now she needs to bury Eli and hide the device she is totally ignorant of.

Doyle finds himself on Sadie’s ranch with a shotgun in his face. He explains he is looking for something and asks permission to search on her property, which she grants him all the while knowing she has what he seeks and refusing to tell him. Doyle is smitten with Sadie as soon as he sees her and is totally impressed by her son Teddy who like Doyle loves inventing things. Two peas in a pod except the pod is in 1888 and he needs to return to the future.

It doesn’t take long before all those in charge realize that they have a saboteur on board and they have to find him or her, repair the cloaking device and leave, easier said than done. Sadie finds herself the host to people she believes are from Washington and finds herself falling for a man she knows little or nothing about. Unfortunately, Doyle is falling for Sadie and Teddy but staying in 1888 is not a possibility, or is it.

So many things happen in this book, surprises, sex, romance, betrayal and violence so putting the book down was out of the question. The characters are wonderful, the visit to 1888 was fun and the discovery of who sabotaged the machine was surprising. And of course, a visit to the old West wouldn’t be fun if we didn’t have outlaws posing as upright citizens. Love this book can’t wait for more.
