Let me just tell you I am inhaling this series….Book One Hell and High Water introduced me to the THIRDS and Charlie Cochet. In not knowing what to expect, book one, won me over at first chapter.

Ms Cochet’s world building was smooth and easy to follow. Her characters are introduced, in a way that you can picture them, each having such definitive personalities and looks, there is no confusion about who is who.

Dexter, honest cop to a fault, has been forced from his job with the Human Police Force and has joined the THIRDS. This group is made of Therians (shifters) and humans joined together to work hand in hand contain the hatred spreading through the world against the Therians. The Team Leader Sloane is a Therian, therefore he has to be paired with a human, Dex is slotted for that position.

Dex has much to overcome as we saw in the first book, but we see much more about Sloane here. Secrets of his past haunt him, the Order emerges to bring chaos and death by bombing a youth center, and we watch glimmers of trust between the two, with Dex and the team, and the final showdown we all find even more sinister things to deal with.

This author has a great ability to keep writing some really dark issues and blows your doors off with such great humor to lighten your load….

Charlie Cochet, you write magic !!!! Off to book 3 Rack and Ruin
