OMG Just when you think you cannot enjoy an Amy Lane book better than the last!!! Another appears and rocks your world……I’ve been luxuriating in The Log Con series, and Fish Out of Water series this summer …… I was perfectly happy …..But if you are a fan of hers, and read her work religiously so when I began to read Constantly Cotton it just about blew my mind !!!!
As a fan you know how she has built a multi world; with The Johnnies Series, Fish Out of Water Series, The Flop House Series, Ace and Sonny and their band in the desert from Racing for the Sun, adding Burton and Ernie and Jai…..So I was totally not expecting this storyline and if I could give this book 10 stars I would; it’s so well deserved.
Jason Constance has been I the military his entire life. Thu the years he has had to make many difficult decisions. He now works with a team skirting issues to keep people safe. Today he has to make a quick decisions to go against his superior’s and rescue a bus load of trafficked children when told to let them go thru.
He not only has to get to them he has to drive them to safety frightened and hungry thru the dessert. He is chased by the bad guys and is shot and is terribly wounded. Jackson and Henry get him to the Flop House to care for him and then the story begins.
Cotton is living at the Flop House running out of options. He has given up working at Johnnies and has had a bit of medical smarts. He is tasked to keep Jason alive, and now the odds get tougher as they cannot keep him there as he will be killed; so they go to a safe house and everyone we know helps keep him alive.
Jason wakes up to ‘an Angel’ caring for him and theie relationship grows. This story is heavy with chills, thrills,and of course Amy Lane Love!!! As I said 10 stars
