Rhea, a witch from Earth, finds herself on a spacecraft after a spell gone wrong. She falls in love with Captain C’tloc and the rest is history! Except now she has to meet his family. C’tloc worries that his daughters will have a tough time accepting Rhea, considering she comes from another planet. To further complicate matters, C’tloc and his people are on the planet Drakarus under duress. They have been chased off their home planet of Akerlon and are being controlled by the Claatu. Now they must work together to escape their captors and start a new life together.
I liked this so much more than I could have predicted! It’s a perfect ‘second chance at love’ combined with a compelling sci-fi plot. The writing flows so nicely, I found myself not able to put it down. Candace Colt’s world building had the perfect amount of detail so that I could be completely immersed in the story. I am very interested in going back to read the first book to find out exactly how Rhea came to be on C’tloc’s spaceship. I’m also looking forward to seeing how the Akerlon rebellion and Rhea and C’tloc’s love progresses.
