Jason’s Stallworth’s life was anything but easy.

His mother had horrible taste in men and the revolving door of baby daddies made that clear. As soon as she kicked out a new sibling, they took off. On top of that, she worked multiple jobs to keep a roof over their heads and food in their bellies leaving Jason to assume the parental role. Many nights he sang his siblings to sleep, drowning out the arguments and slamming doors.

Music was his therapy. Music was his escape. Music was his life.

Sikes and Snipe met in the marines and though their connection was instant, the duo always felt something was missing. After retiring from the military, their friend and former squad mate Max hooked them up with interviews as personal bodyguards with his boss, Fizzbo.

Guarding rockstars wasn’t on their Bingo card, but a job was a job and as long as they remained on the same team they were good to go. What they didn’t expect was to fall for one of their principals.

Higher Notes is book two in the Chaotic Abyss rockstar romance series.

Jason Stallworth, the lead singer of Chaotic Abyss, supports his mother and three siblings. His mother’s poor choices in men resulted in four children by three different fathers who all abandoned her during pregnancy.
The band is gaining popularity with the support of their management company. Now Jason is in a position of finally being able to move his family to a better place and have his mom stop working three jobs. All of this becomes possible with the aid of Snipe and Sikes, the security guys hired to protect him.
Siles and Snipe have been together for decades, but they have gotten to the point where they feel something is missing and that something is Jason. Jason is hesitant at first to be the third in their relationship, but he puts his hesitancy aside and joins them. Now it is not only Jason looking for a new home for his family but his two new boyfriends joining in the search for a home all can enjoy together.
When Sikes and Snipe are introduced to the family the twins, six-year-old Nicole and Nolan welcome them with open arms and the two men who never imagined having children fall head over heels for the entire family. Jason’s mom Dana has never had a problem with Jason being gay and welcomes the new members of the family.
A house is purchased, and everyone is settled before the band goes on a six-month tour.
Happily living together with a house perfect for them all and security set up for protection, Jason finally feels a sense of peace that has long been absent.
Everyone, including the other bands accepts Jason’s new dynamic because family comes before anything else. When needs arrive they are ready, willing and able to assist in any way possible.
The twins are adorable, and Nicole is a six-year-old going on twenty. Sikes and Snipe have become an important part of the family, and they have found what they had been missing.
The band has a new CD, and they are ready for Rocktoberfest until the past rears its ugly head.
This book is for anyone who loves rock n roll, the journey to the top and the people who help them on the way up. It is a long journey and not everyone makes it, but Chaotic Abyss was lucky enough to fall in with people who put family first and career second.
The relationship between Jason, Sikes and Snipe was beautiful and the interaction with the kids for two men who have only had each other was wonderful. This is a book that I highly recommend, love, sex, music and friendships that go above and beyond.
