When Dr. Carson Marlow washed ashore on a sandy beach, she had no memory of the last twenty-four hours. Lost, battered, and confused, she trekked a path along the shore into the woods, hoping to find help.

Despite the cool November morning, Piers Bradley stood beneath Madison Falls washing off dust from days of horseback riding. He never expected to see a beautiful woman wandering alone through the dense forest summit.

Neither believed in destiny…or time travel, but nothing short of kismet could describe their encounter. Can Carson and Piers discover who tried to murder her, save a young slave girl’s life, and unravel their mysterious connection in time ~ for Christmas?

Dr. Carson Marlow a pediatric surgeon finds herself washed ashore injured and with no knowledge of what happened in the last twenty-four hours ; recognizing nothing around her. With a sprained ankle and various bruises, she makes off hoping to find something or someone familiar. Help comes in the form of a naked man sitting under a waterfall, a waterfall that doesn’t exist where she lives, so the question is, where is she.

Piers Bradley stood under the waterfall staring at Carson and convinced she was an angel. For the first time he found himself drawn to a woman, a beautiful woman limping and with bruises, a woman he intended to help. Although Carson was an independent woman and used to doing for herself her ankle made it impossible for her to go on by herself.

Piers takes Carson to his home, Rosewood Manor, and here is where Carson learns the truth, she has travelled back to the year 1858 and getting back to her time seems impossible. As Piers and Carson spend time together, he falls harder and harder for her and she begins to find a peace and comfort she never felt before. Everything changes when a young girl is seriously injured and Carson knows that she has to return to her time and get medicine to save the child.

Without giving too much away it is the Holloway sisters that come to Carson’s aid and it is the Holloway sisters that can control whether Carson can return to her time and if possible, return to 1858 save the child and be reunited with Piers.

I did not read the first book in the series but in no way did it affect my enjoyment of this one, in fact I read it in one sitting. This is definitely a book I highly recommend to anyone who is a fan of time travel and a beautiful romance.
