Matt lives a pretty simple life. A physical therapist, he helps people to heal and become their best selves once again. When he’s offered a live-in position at the Saint residence, he accepts easily and for a while, things go smoothly. But then there’s a drunken night…and a possible stalker. Matt is really starting to miss that simple life.

Nick likes computers more than people…except maybe his twin brother. Matt living with them for months on end doesn’t affect him much…until one weird night. Now Nick sees Matt in a different light, and when someone else starts looking at Matt in a very dangerous way, he is filled with a need to help. But will Matt let him? And who is stalking Matt?

When the situation begins to escalate and it appears that Matt’s life may be on the line, Nick refuses to stand on the sidelines—he calls for his family to step in and help. As Nick and Matt get closer in every way, so does the threat. Can Nick and Matt keep one step ahead of danger, or is luck not on their side?

Mine to Keep is book three in the Saint Brothers Series. While the story is a standalone, characters from past books appear in this story so for the full experience I suggest reading in order Book one: Slay Ride. Book two: Kill Me Sweetly.

Matt York is a physical therapist who has been living in the Saint Brother’s home caring for JJ. JJ was beaten within an inch of his life and his treatment is taking months. Everything was going well until Matt had an embarrassing moment with Nick Saint at a club now, he is ready to decrease JJ’s therapy to three times a week with no need for him to stay at the house.
The Saint Brothers operate the Saintly Sweets bakery, dedicating a significant portion of their time to assisting others in various ways. When Matt starts receiving anonymous gifts, Nick becomes concerned that there may be a stalker involved, potentially leading to further escalation. He wishes to assist Matt; however, Matt remains resolute in handling the situation independently.
Anonymous gifts, notes left on his car telling Matt that he is his and his only. Things go from bad to worse when Nick and Matt begin hanging out with each other leading to Nick also receiving threats. The police are no help or though they do try but their hands are tied whereas the Saint Brothers do not follow the letter of the law.
The threats increase and when Matt realizes he won’t get much help from the police he agrees to allow Nick and the others to help him. Nick’s fear of escalation happens when Matt is grabbed in his garage with threats against anyone else being in Matt’s life. The opinion is that it is someone Matt knows, the question is who.
Stalking is no joke and many people have died because of it so Nick is worried especially since he and Matt are growing closer. One member of the group believes it is a woman the rest are not so sure. What I can say is the stalker was a surprise and one I didn’t guess which is a mark of an excellent author who can keep you guessing until the end.
The investigation continues with all possible leads being pursued. Each discovery unfortunately leads to another dead end, and the individual’s behavior is becoming increasingly obsessive.
Although the books can be read individually, I am glad I began with book two which led to JJ and Matt being together even though it was for treatment. The book moved along quickly and was never boring or slow moving.
There wasn’t a lot of violence but just the fact that someone is obsessed with another was enough drama.
