REVIEWERS: SHE SAID – GLORIA LAKRITZ / SHE SAID – MELISSA BRUS
Following a family emergency, snowboarder Tevyn Moore and financier Mallory Armstrong leave Donner Pass in a blizzard… and barely survive the helicopter crash that follows. Stranded with few supplies and no shelter, Tevyn and Mallory—and their injured pilot—are forced to rely on each other.
The mountain leaves no room for evasion, and Tevyn and Mal must confront the feelings that have been brewing between them for the past five years. Mallory has seen Tevyn through injury and victory. Can Tevyn see that Mallory’s love is real?
Mallory’s job is risk assessment. Tevyn’s job is full-on risk. But to stay alive, Mallory needs to take some gambles and Tevyn needs to have faith in someone besides himself. Can the bond they discover on the mountain see them to rescue and beyond?

Tevyn Moore and Mallory Armstrong just needed a little push to get them to face their feelings. So Amy Lane gives them that “little” push in the form of stranding them in a full on blizzard after a helicopter crash with an injured friend.
Yep. Just a little nudge. You would think this would be higher on the angst scale, but thankfully, with all the challenges they are facing in nature, the angst level is relatively low. In true Amy Lane fashion, there are still lots of emotional ups and downs in this story.
The days trapped by the storm are such a true adventure tale. I love Mallory. He is the ultimate caregiver. Allowing himself to finally show his feelings for Tevyn is such a beautiful thing. Tevyn, while uber confident on the surface and having such amazing survival skills, shows such vulnerability when it comes to his heart. When you add in the snarky side comments from Damien which are definitely the comic relief in this adventure, and it creates such a great story!
Well, that and the fabulousness that is their safety gear. Without risking a spoiler, it was a moment that had me laughing so hard I had to put down the book for a minute to clear the tears. Amy Lane also sneaks in some cameos, so fans of her work will get a fun surprise. I really hope there will be a next book to follow up on Damien and Preston- my own little push to you Ms Lane!
