Scarves of every color, sweaters in intricate weaves, and knitting needles with sharp points…
With tourist season finally over, the small mountain town of Estes Park, Colorado, can breathe a collective sigh of relief and enjoy a slower, more relaxed pace. That works just fine for Winifred Page, so she can rearrange the novels that cover the shelves of her bookshop. Watson, her beloved Corgi, is equally as excited about long uninterrupted naps by the fire.
Strings that Fred has been attempting to connect around her father’s murder, and the Irons family infiltration into her town and her life, suddenly tangle into one huge mound of brightly colored knots. It’s going to take all of her skill and strength to weave them into the truth. However, sometimes, a particularly harmless-looking thread can make everything unravel…
(This culinary cozy mystery includes a recipe for the perfect chocolate chip cookie.)

This is first of all an amazing series of cozy mysteries. Each book has Winifred Page unraveling a new mystery, but there is also a larger arc with a big mystery that slowly gets pieced together throughout the series.
I highly recommend reading them in order as there are a lot of relationships in this town that are integral to understanding and enjoying the story. In this book, the murder that Winifred and her corgi pal Watson have to face, brings them both closer to danger, and brings them face to face with old evils.
It is truly one of the best of the series, with revelations and moments that had me gasping. From who the victim is, to strangers lurking in the woods, to figuring out key elements to her own father’s murder….yep it is all in this book.
I can’t wait to see what happens next after this bombshell of a book. Fans of good mystery writing need to get this series into their lives.

So you see this is Book #20 in this Mildred Abbott Cozy Mystery series…. So just sayin’ I Am Invested! Mildred Abbott has shrewdly gathered her people into a small town setting, thus having the reader get to know the families, and the ‘feel’ of the town. Being an outsider, moving to Estes Park with her sweet corgi Watson; Winifred Page has made a name for herself !
Daughter of a police detective, killed in the line of duty here by an infamous gangster family , Winifred has inherited some of her father’s tenacious skills, murder solving!.
With this said we have traveled a 20 book road with her, finding bodies and solving crimes; meeting and losing people along the way.
Mildred About has chosen Book 20 to give the readers some answers we definitely needed, and to have a bit of closure; yet adding more to our plate for the future. This book was spine chilling and I cannot wait for more.
I do suggest for best enjoyment the series should be read in order….and for you reading buffs I am jealous that you have this fine series to begin!!!
See you all at #21
