Fun with ELIZABETH MASON:
I’m a Cali girl who should enjoy the California sun more than I do. I’m content being indoors writing and creating haunting romance with strong leading women and bad boy leading men. With a degree in psychology, I’m drawn to the complexities of human behavior. The diversity of personalities, interactions, emotions, and relationships reflect in my writing. When I’m not busy typing away, I enjoy time with my husband, two boys, and my two Weimaraner pups. And thanks to my love for lattes, I enjoy reading romance late into the night. My husband and two boys inspired me to never give up, and thanks to them, I’m proud to announce my debut novel: “Love Me to Hell and Back”, a haunting tale of self-reflection and forgiveness, even in the darkness of Hell. |
Favorite Books that I Wrote:
Love Me to Hell and Back: Demon Huntress
I started writing this book years ago. I worked hard learning how to write fiction, researching the story’s elements, and discovering my craft and style. After years of writing, learning, and editing, I never gave up. “Love Me to Hell and Back: Demon Huntress” has my sweat and tears within its pages, and for that reason, I adore this book. It showcases my perseverance and love for writing.
Favorite Books by People who Aren’t Me.
Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward https://bit.ly/2GwD9ro
Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
The Stopover (Miles High Club) by T.L. Swan tlsanauthor.com/books/the-stopover
It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover https://www.colleenhoover.com/portfolio/it-ends-with-us/
Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning https://Karenmoning.com/novels/fever-series/darkfever
The “Black Dagger Brotherhood” series is what inspired me to write my own paranormal romance. Each character shows their own distinct personality, and the premise is unique, and the plot is well organized. Plus, the Black Dagger Brothers are so sexy.
“Halfway to the Grave” is one of my favorites because of the strong sexual tension between Bones and Cat. When I think of vampires and what they should be like, I think of Bones. He personifies the definition of vampires: sexy, witty, and badass.
“The Stopover” had tension throughout. The relationship between Emily and Jamison felt real and not forced. Plus, I love books that make me cry, and this one hit a soft spot.
The raw emotion in the book “It Ends with Us” is relatable and intense. The heroine was well crafted. Colleen Hoover forces the reader into the heart and the life of Lily. Readers experience her weaknesses, heartaches, and strengths. I cried. I laughed. I got angry. This book brought forth strong emotions and that’s the foundation of a well-written book. Lily’s character inspires me and my writing.
“Darkfever” is a thrilling fantasy with a little bit of mystery, crime, and folklore. The worldbuilding is well developed, and I love the info-dumping technique Karen Moning used. Mac, the heroine, writes the necessary backstory and world-building into a journal.
