It’s the first Christmas away from family and friends for the crew of Genesis and everyone, Commander Tobias Dekker in particular, is feeling homesick. With no habitable planets in sight for holiday shore leave, Captain Caden Flynn decides to create Christmas inside the ship instead. And if he can’t bring Toby to his family, he’ll bring Toby’s family to him with a gift from the heart.
(This short story is a follow up to An Endless Sea of Stars, but can be read as a standalone holiday tale)

December 2126 finds Captain Caden Flynn and his lover Tobias (Toby) Dekker spending Christmas aboard the Genesis on Earth’s first intergalactic voyage. They as well as the rest of the crew are missing home and with no habitable planet in sight Christmas will be spent aboard ship.
Caden wants to come up with a plan to bring a Merry Christmas to his crew and when he does Toby and the Crew refuse to allow him access to what they are doing, their way of thanking him. Caden and Toby have been together for five years since meeting in Florida and although Toby is very homesick without his family there is no place he’d rather be than with the man he loves.
This is a very short story, but it proves that with a little bit of ingenuity and hard work even a starship can be the place for Christmas cheer. All the crew reminisce about their past Christmas’s bringing them all closer, but it would take Caden and Toby to make each other’s dreams come true.
A Christmas miracle in space, surprises, love and sex, Santa would be proud.
