This short story really packed a punch and like the other Robert Herold books I have been privileged to read it had horror, suspense and surprises.
Steven Metcalf received an invitation to a black-tie party just like Maara Chandler. Both of them had invitations that appealed to their individual interests. What neither of them expected was for the party goers to put on white robes and sacrificing a beautiful woman. But the biggest surprise was that Steven was next.
Quick action on Maara’s part saved his life and put the two of them on the run. Steven suggested they go to his Department Chair who studies cults hoping he will know what they should do. Unfortunately, he sends them to someone else so the search for help and trying to stay alive is all they can think about.
Thirteen authors have written stand-alone short stories releasing on May 13th and all the stories are about Friday the 13th and this one was full of surprises, surprises that left me speechless.
