This novella ended in a cliffhanger but fortunately all the books in the series have already been published. I have not yet read any of the books in the series other than this one introducing me to Ben Nero and Dex Draven two characters that I really loved.
Two men from two different planets, planets that are on the brink of war. Ben is from the planet Valyria a race of psychics and Dex from Mogadon and was born into Mogadon Empire’s ruling class. Dex’s father is a brutal man and is a morality officer who has made being gay punishable by death. Unfortunately, for Dex the one person he thinks about all the time and wants to be with is his childhood friend Ben Nero but being with him would be deadly for Ben.
When Dex sees a naked Ben in the shower, he runs but Ben follows and all the pent-up sexual tension boils over. What should have been a beautiful time when two men in love finally got together it was filled with fear.
Well, the story ended with “to be continued” so what the future holds for these two men is not something I can reveal because I don’t know.
