Vampires mate for life. They marry for love.
Oriel Covaci has the worst luck. For years, he has searched for the right mate, only to meet with frustration and disappointment. Now, unable to trust himself with yet another courtship, he seeks out an arranged union—something almost unheard of in vampire culture.
All her life, Cosette Dragomir hid behind her books and her music, wanting to fade into the background while simultaneously longing for something more. When her father approaches her about an arranged union with the vampire she has fancied for a long time, she must brave her timidity and sacrifice her solitude for the future she has only dreamed of.
But as two very different people are thrown into the pits of danger, they could lose each other forever. Can their love overcome their trials or are they destined to fail?

Oriel Covaci is a vampire, handsome and very rich but the one thing he is missing is a mate. Time and time again his attempt at finding a mate resulted in him being wanted only for his riches and he has decided it was time to stop looking even though he knows his life will be lonely without a mate and children. When his sister’s mate suggested an arranged marriage, not something normal in the vampire community he decides to ask his grandfather to pick someone for him.
The problem with an arranged marriage is that once a vampire picks a mate it is for life and he has put a great deal of responsibility on his grandfather’s shoulders. In addition to wanting an arranged marriage he does not want to know the name of his future mate and insists that she cover her face until the ceremony is over. The choice his grandfather made was Cosette Dragomir a very timid girl whose longest relationship lasted only hours.
Cosette has had feelings for Oriel since they were children but is reluctant to go through with the marriage knowing how timid she is and feeling he deserves better than her. It takes written communication between the two for her to realize that refusing the marriage was hurting him. His letters were filled with hopes for a happy future and that he has no doubt he will love her. Despite her reluctance she goes through with the marriage and when she reveals her face Oriel is surprised at how lucky he is to have such a beautiful mate and he is determined to prove to her that he will always protect her.
Cosette won’t kiss him, she won’t allow him to watch her play her music and she definitely will not sleep in the same bed as him. He finds that even a simple touch makes her back away and now he has to find a way to break down the wall she has built up. His plan is for them to take a honeymoon, one room, one bed and no place for her to hide. He has chosen a place covered in snow and finally sees her laugh and show true joy. She still keeps her distance but little by little he is getting her to be less timid. They have not yet completed the mate bond even though some time has gone by but he will not break his promise to her to not do anything until she is ready.
As Cosette becomes more comfortable with Oriel and begins to enjoy their time together they find themselves in danger and one of them might not make it. I absolutely love this series and can’t wait for more. If vampires are a favorite genre of yours then this is a series you should dive into.
