This is Blake Allwood’s 5th book in his Coming Home Series. From the fist book I was enamored with his writing style. Blake is a story teller, doing this well with each book. From what I can tell, he is a sweet southern boy, writing what he knows best. Sweet Tea, Porch Swings, Swimming Holes you got it!!!
This entire series is written around Crawford City, a small town in the rolling hills of Tennessee. It’s not to far from Nashville. Each book has had a story of new people moving there, a new doctor, a new architect etc. As they meet the townsfolk, seeing what a wonderful gay friendly area they have come to; it is easy to want to lay down roots there.
Mr. Allwood has chosen for this book, two young men who do not live in Crawford City but lived close. Chris Asbell just graduated from college. He was a book nerd and got a job at his local library. His plans were to have a library of his own in the future. Crawford City was expanding its downtown and an old school house was becoming a Library. Chris accepted the job, after seeing the town, its what he dreamed of.
Roth Gallo was in a TV Talent show. He lost first place, but was offered to meet with a record company in Nashville. Getting a contract was mind blowing , meeting with the record company publicist that lived in Nashville and Crawford City. Roth drove down to Crawford City to meet Jake McCartney, with his entire family his Mom, Dad, Jess his brother and Lettie his sister.
Chris moved down to help get the new library completed. The job was difficult as he was he only employee.. Getting free help was needed and Roth jumped in. This is where Blake does his best writing, setting this story, and you the reader are so happy to be back in this little place we know so well….We feel like we have also come home!
Well the rest is for you to read; as I have done that and loved it. I cannot wait for the next book. No love story goes smoothly and this one has its moments. Thanks Blake for the cozy sweet love story!
