Seventeen-year-old Zeke Graham grew up the black sheep of his ultra-conservative fundamentalist family, with parents who rule with an iron fist and siblings who scorn him for not being perfect enough. The night he finds out the older brother he never knew about has died, his world starts tumbling down. Luckily for him, not even death can stop his brother Gabe from meddling.

With the support of his newly demonic brother and other unexpected allies, Zeke is determined to bring down his abusive parents and make a life for himself. Now he just has to figure out if that life will be in the living world or with the family in Hell he's rapidly coming to care deeply for. Either way, it just might have to include an oddly familiar vampire who seems to delight in making him turn red. One thing's for certain: Hell's emotional climate is far better than he expected, and he's not sure he wants to leave.

Go for the Climate is part of the multi-author Carnival of Mysteries Series. Each book stands alone, but each one includes at least one visit to Errante Ame's Carnival of Mysteries, a magical, multiverse traveling show full of unusual acts, games, and rides. The Carnival changes to suit the world it's on, so each visit is unique and special. This book contains slow-burn paranormal romance, first loves, karmic justice, and a guaranteed Happily Ever Afterlife.

Zeke Graham is a young man growing up with extreme fundamentalist parents who head a megachurch. Zeke has siblings but he is the one who receives the abuse. Both his mother and father use him as a punching bag, and no one tries to help him. His parents are wealthy, the school he attends is controlled by his father and as punishment his parents use food as a weapon.

Seventeen years old Zeke thought things couldn’t get any worse, but he was wrong. Sneaking into his father’s office he finds pictures of children from the church being abused by his father, the sheriff, the chief and other people in power. Zeke wants to bring his parents to justice but who does he go to when the people he should be able to trust are involved.

Everything changes for Zeke when he finds out that he had an older brother who has died. When his mother is notified, she is happy that he is gone but Zeke is devastated not to have known his brother Gabe. Zeke has lucid dreams and that is when he meets Gage.

His dreams are his escape from the torture he faces daily from his parents and when he dreams of a house with a conservatory, he finally has peace until he wakes up. Gabe tells Zeke that he will help him and gives him a card. He is to go to Dennys drop the card and Gabe will come. Zeke had no idea that dropping that card would lead him to Hell.

Gabe is a demon, and his boyfriend is Stan (Satan) that is when Zeke discovers that he is half-demon. Zeke is worried about his younger sister, Abigail (Abby) who has also met their father’s fist. Zeke finally has an ally and together they work at getting away.

Zeke is surprised at what he finds in Hell and Gabe and Stan are dedicated to him and his happiness. Gabe is a man who pushes everyone’s buttons but with love. I loved reading about Gabe again since I first met him in “Go for the Company”. Go for the Company is another Carnival of Mysteries story and Gabe’s story.

Abby is safe, Zeke is safe, but he is in Hell and must decide if he wants to stay. Zeke meets Stefan a vampire and finds himself falling for him while Gabe threatens to kill Stefan. So much happens in this book and it is a totally different take on Hell. Justice waits for Zeke’s parents, but will it come.

This book has it all, demons, surprises, and romance. The abuse is heartbreaking and may be hard for some to read.

Another wonderful addition to the Carnival of Mysteries series by different authors each standalone and each visiting the Carnival of Mysteries.
