This is a series that must be read in order, or you will find yourself confused and since all three books are already available then there will be no waiting till you get to the finish line.
Stella is finally back to the Shadow World only one of her monsters, Reis is still being held prisoner by Prince Aric’s evil cousin, Malachi. Although she is with Aric and Wels, they all know that Reis is the missing piece and saving him is of utmost importance next to saving Shadow World and putting Aric back on the throne.
Stella has magic sex so when the two of them, Aric and Wels are together they can feel Reis and know that for now he is still alive. Stella has power but unfortunately, she can’t control it so if there is any hope of saving Reis, she must learn how to harness it. Stella is convinced that if she returns to her world and finds Lizzie at the institution, she herself escaped from she will learn how to retrieve the portal stone that should enable her to open a portal leading them to Reis.
Lizzie tries to teach her how to get to the stone but once again she is unable to perform the magic no matter how many times she tries. The only other recourse is to take Stella to Aric’s old mentor who he banished and is now in Stella’s world. He is the only one that can hopefully teach Stella how to use her magic but once again Stella isn’t able to grasp it. When the mentor is killed the three of them return to Shadow World trying desperately to come up with a plan that will work against Malachi’s dark magic.
Through the sex magic Aric, Wels and Stella are aware of the torture Reis is going through he’s chained, suffering from broken bones and bloody wounds and Stella worries how long before Malachi kills him. Malachi wants Stella for her magic, magic he is determined to use to control the world. Stella knows she is the hope of saving Shadow World and returning Aric as the king, but her magic is wild and uncontrollable and everything rests on her.
So much happens in this book until we reach the end. Sex, magic and a hope of freeing Reis and reuniting Stella with all three of her monsters, monsters that she deeply loves. I did not read book one and the author updated me enough in book two to enjoy it, but I still feel I missed a lot.
