I have been reading Amy Lane since 2008 ish…..Amy was a struggling Indie author/ High School Teacher. She was writing in those years an adult Paranormal Series of Vampires, Werewolves, Fairies, Sprites, Fae and all things that were magical. But even in that first series, she made everyone in Greenshill safe protecting each other, hearth and home was the safety and lots of knitting. From there she started to change paths and Keeping Promise Rock and other storylines took us to many places. All of these had sweet stories again HEA’s and Gay Romances.
When she started another storyline years later, and I saw her at a conference and she spoke about the hardest thing she had done that year. She may remember the name of the book but it is escaping me as I write this, when she said she had to kill a man and leave him dead in a hotel room, and that chapter was the hardest thing she had ever done. That was the day she put her Big Girl Panties on and BECAME an Author!
There is nothing Amy cannot write that I do not enjoy, but her new forays into saving the world one book at a time with todays America and how her characters are on the right side of history. Her stories are getting grittier, in the Flop House Boys, Henry, Constance and Burton and The Fish Out of Water Series with PI Jackson Rivers and Attorney Ellery Cramer. So it is no surprise that after sharpening her pen writing her series The Long Con having her fans wringing their hands for each book, Under Cover was born. Congratulations Ms. Lane, you truly have learned your craft !
This book Under Cover is so meaningful. It again tests people’s morals and why they want to serve. Crosby and Garcia are the best of what we are. What they go thru is the tribute to them and the team the author portrays.
