Another visit to the Salem Pack and another amazing read. This is Wyatt River’s story and once I started it couldn’t put it down.
Wyatt has been told repeatedly to try to find his mate, but he has given up. Each time he touches a woman he expects his wolf to howl and each time nothing happens. He finally decided to just find a woman to enjoy a night of sex with and expect nothing. It is at a club when a beautiful woman comes up to him and doesn’t hide her desire for a wild night which Wyatt is more than ready to give her. One kiss and the unexpected happened his wolf howled, and he found his one true mate.
Ashleigh Merrit has given up the idea of a relationship, her last one put her off anything permanent and all she wants is a night of hot sex and Wyatt is the one she chose. She uses her club name, Desiree, and always gives a fake phone number. The night with Wyatt was off the charts but she still refuses to see him again even when he is all she thinks about.
Wyatt searched for Desiree but with no phone number and no last name it was a lost cause. He found his mate and lost her all in one night. When an invitation was sent to the school, she teaches in for a field trip for the third-grade children fate would once again intervene. Wyatt and Ashleigh would be brought together to his delight and her desire to once again put him in her rearview mirror.
The trip was for the sole purpose of finding Ashleigh who unbeknownst to her is in danger. Ashleigh lost her biological parents and was adopted so there was no one to teach her about her magic or even that she was a witch. She gave up relationships after nearly killing her ex-boyfriend when she created a hurricane in her living room sending items flying including knives. She fears what she can do and never equated it to her being a witch.
When she discovers who she is and what Wyatt is she has a lot to deal with including wanting him around. She needs to learn to control her magic and the Coven of Light will teach her. Keeping her away from the Coven of Darkness and its leader Sienna Hall who wants to create a spell to give her immortality and killing werewolves and cutting them up for parts is another problem and danger facing the Salem Pack.
As the dangers grow Wyatt must convince Ashleigh to give him a chance and whether that happens, I will not reveal. Enemies are everywhere and Zeke the new Alpha of the pack has called on General Sloan for help. Werewolves are targets, and the full moon is a few days away when the pack is at its most vulnerable in wolf form, they cannot fight against dart guns filled with sedatives so they need all the help they can get.
I have said this before in previous reviews that every time I receive one of Ms. Kessler’s books to review, I go into my happy place. I know I am guaranteed amazing characters, danger, romance and sex so I get it all.
