Rosco is an emergency room doctor with a daughter who relies on him. Between his career and family, he has little time for any type of personal life. But he finds himself flirting with one of the ambulance EMTs and, to his surprise, he gets flirted with right back.
Miguel is surprised the handsome ER doc even knows who he is. His own life is a little dull, but making eyes at Doc and getting a response supercharges his days. After he’s injured on the job, Miguel gets a firsthand look at Doc Rosco’s incredible bedside manner, not to mention the rest of him.
As the two men tentatively start exploring the attraction that has simmered for months, the head of medicine takes exception to their budding relationship. Pressure builds, and the two men must make decisions about their lives, their jobs, and the one thing that could make each of them happy… each other.

As an ER doctor with a five-year-old daughter and working the graveyard shift Rosco Mortimer has no time for any outside activities such as a boyfriend until his high school crush Miguel Sandoval enters his life, an EMT also working the graveyard shift.
Rosco still can’t keep his eyes off Miguel but he isn’t blind to the fact that Miguel would probably not notice him anymore than he did in high school in addition to the fact that every hour of his nights and days is already filled to the brim. Everything changes when Miguel is injured while rescuing someone after a car accident and Rosco is the doctor treating him. Rosco realizes that Miguel is flirting with him and he begins flirting back with no illusion of it going anywhere.
A trip to the pool with his daughter Posey brings him and Miguel together again. Miguel is with his niece and nephew and all the kids begin to play together leaving Miguel and Rosco time to talk and anyone with kids knows that adult talk time is rare. For the first time since high school the two men feel a connection and have to try to find time for each other because after many times of being hurt by the men they allowed in their lives they are both leery of being hurt again.
Rosco and Miguel start believing that they found the kind of man they always dreamed about but what will really push their relationship into high gear is the homophobic Head of Medicine at the hospital they both work at. Who would guess that a homophobe would help a gay couple find love.
This book was wonderful filled with wonderful characters especially a five-year-old going on thirty. Every time I get an Andrew Grey book to review, I think of it as a gift and since this one is coming out just before Christmas I will consider it a Christmas gift, thank you Andrew.
