Archangel Michael is searching for revenge against his brother, Lucifer, who tortured and tormented him. When Michael first lands on Earth, he is shocked to discover a damsel in distress—a beautiful naked human, Misty, whom he’s knocked unconscious while she was taking an evening swim.
Misty has a unique mind; she’s intelligent and quirky, but she has a dark past, which prevents her from falling head over heels for the handsome hunk of a man who came to her rescue.
The connection between Michael and Misty is strong, but will it be enough to withstand the drama among Michael's family?
Can Michael still seek his vengeance, or will Misty become a pawn in Lucifer’s games?

Archangel Michael is depressed and wants to find his older brother Lucifer to exact revenge for the torture and abuse he subjected him to. He is told that Lucifer is in Malta which is where he heads to.
Misty is in Malta working for the summer in her father’s bar before she returns home. One night she gives into her desire to get naked and go for a long swim, it relaxes her and clears her head. Misty is the victim of torture and abuse from her husband, and it has forever altered her life.
The fates were aligned because as Misty gets out of the water Michael arrives causing a rock to hit her in the head. When Michael lifts her and attempts to stop the bleeding, he feels something toward her that he has never felt before. He drops her off at the hospital hoping that he can find her again.
Michael ends up in Misty’s father’s bar and he is thrilled to find her. Of course, as an Archangel Michael draws women and some men to him and by the time he recognizes Misty he has had all the alcohol the women have bought him. After hitting his head on the table, he gets up sober.
Misty is thrilled when Michael keeps showing up at the bar and she is allowing herself to feel an attraction to him despite having lived with abuse and torture. She has no fear of Michael and accepts his explanation that he is in Malta searching for his brother, and his brother shows up at the bar.
Michael knows that he can’t allow Lucifer to know about Misty because he will not hesitate to hurt her to get back at Michael. Unfortunately, Lucifer and Michael sat down together and drank after Lucifer called a truce. Once again drunk Michael can’t keep his feelings for Misty from bursting out and the only hope to protect her is to promise to fight Lucifer.
All the Archangels are represented in this book and are there to heal Michael when Lucifer gets the better of him. This was a very different take on Archangels, their fights with each other and some lies. The first three books covered the lives of some of Michael’s brothers and there is more coming.
Surprises, secrets, betrayals and romance. Some of the other Archangel’s pasts are brought up in this book and although this book can be standalone, I think I would have had a better understanding of what happened.
An Archangel and a human, both of whom have suffered torture and abuse find each other but for how long.
