Falling for him would be pure folly. I know that. Now all I have to do is convince my heart…

Allowing a strange dragon into my home was not my idea.

The Assembly assured me it was necessary, though. And that’s how I ended up with him.

Ollie Shaw is clumsy. Unfairly hot. He stumbles through my life leaving a trail of chaos and sunny charm in his wake.

And I hoard every moment with him like he’s my greatest treasure.

But with an entire dragon territory to rule, bills to pay, and treachery brewing in my family, I can’t afford to be distracted by Ollie’s copper-gilded beauty and boundless enthusiasm.

I especially can’t give in to my dragon’s primal urge to claim him.

Because loving him could cost me everything I’ve fought so hard to protect. And that would eventually come back to bite us both—with dragon’s teeth…

This is my first read from this author and I was very entertained from start to finish. I’m a big fan of paranormal romances and who doesn’t love dragon shifters! What makes this even better is it being set in England, which I rarely find in PNR.

Ollie is such a sunshine-y character, though the more you read of him, it’s clear that comments from supposed loved ones have cut deeper than intended. When it comes to Archer, they couldn’t be more different, and then being forced to share space at Archer’s family home for three months will be a lesson in control for them both.

It’s a perfect opposites attract, forced proximity romance with a mates element between dragon shifters. What adds another level is the ongoing family drama that Archer has been dealing with for years, ever since his father died and he became head of their family/clan. It’s caused tension between him and his younger brother, and then an aunt and uncle who come across as sweet as can be to Ollie but to Archer, you can feel the tension and frostiness. His younger sister, Mia, is so friendly and welcoming straight away, the opposite of her brothers but in Archer’s defence, he has so much to balance and deal with, ensuring the family’s financial survival as well as keeping it together.

The attraction between both men is instant from the start but where Ollie would go for instant gratification, Archer refuses to put the burden of his life onto anyone else and knows that Ollie is worth more than just a one off. Plus, there is no time when at the moot because of all the talking, arguing and decision making happening between all of the dragon families.

The only part that made me come out of the story is how often the POV of the MC’s changed throughout. It would happen at least three or four times a chapter but when it happens every couple of chapters, it threw me off slightly.

I’d say this book can easily be read as a standalone and, because I’ve enjoyed it so much, I’d love to go back and read the first two books of the series. A highly recommended read that I think many will enjoy.
