Wellington “Wells” Barnaby spent years as a marine going from one conflict to another but now, he is home. After years of his life as a soldier, knowing what was expected of him, he finds himself floundering. What does he want to do with his life, a big question that he hasn’t found an answer to yet. He is living with his sister and five-year-old niece Giselle (Gelly) and has fallen into the role of babysitter trying to help his sister so she can work without worry.

A visit to the park brings a man from his past, Miller Washington, the man he has always dreamed of being with but a gay relationship in the military was not ideal, so he kept his desires to himself convinced that Miller was straight. Imagine the shock when Wells learns that Miller feels the same way. Miller has come with bad news an enemy has gotten free and there is no doubt he will be after the two men responsible for his imprisonment, Miller and Wells. Of course, he was given life but had no problem convincing Homeland Security that he should be let out while dangling the promise of relaying important information. Ok I don’t want to go into what my feelings are because Rosh Salman supplied nothing but his own freedom.

Miller and Wells do everything in their power to safeguard Gelly and Christine, and Salman’s whereabouts are still unknown so there is hope he has headed away from the U.S. but “if wishes were grains of sand, the world would be a desert. The perfect weapon for Salman to use is Wells’ sister and niece. The sad thing is that these two marines who fought for their country are being pursued by one of their own.

Well, Andrew Grey has done it again, he has written a story although short, a story that makes an impact. Gelly is a typical five-year-old which is also scary because now a days they are too smart for their own good and those around them lol. It is always a treat when Mr. Grey starts a new series, and this one is a must read. Romance, surprises and amazing characters and as always, I started the book and didn’t put it down till I finished it.
