Sonya Inman is a forensic accountant working for the Guardian Agency. She has been secretly researching Christopher Zimmer hoping to get enough information to bring to her bosses. When she finally reveals her findings, she is given the green light to continue her research, but it did not include in-person research.

Connor Brady is a research expert with the Guardian Agency and has been tasked to remotely follow Sonya. She is always on the go, never staying in one place for long and her bosses worry about her. All she needs is a computer to do her work, she can work from anywhere. He is sent to Brookwell Island to join up with Sonya and protect her.

Connor has had a crush on Sonya since he began following her and now being assigned to protect her and work with her is a dream come true. Sonya and Connor have worked together in the past, so she is happy to have him on her team. Finding incriminating evidence against Zimmer who has a scam exploiting innocent college students. Three of those students have disappeared.

Now finding Zimmer is more important than ever since the missing girl’s lives could be in danger. Sonya is a nomad due to her family of con-artists and thieves, a family she ran from and keeps running from for fear of people finding out. Connor also has a secret from his past but is afraid to reveal it to Sonya for fear she will run from him. He dreams of a future with her but knows he must tread softly.

Finding information on Zimmer is slow going with Connor following his movement and Sonya trying to find the information needed to put him away but neither of them is willing to give up.

Sonya was sure she covered her tracks, but something happened to make them rethink that. Now they must get help from the Agency since neither Connor nor Sonya are trained to be agents.

Another wonderful addition to a wonderful series by a wonderful author. Okay I used wonderful a lot but that is because everything was wonderful. Suspense, a mystery, romance, secrets and everything you would want from romantic suspense.
