Once again Mr. Herold has managed to scare the hell out of me. If you love horror, he is the horror king.

It’s Hopsburg and everyone is readying for Christmas until bodies turn up dead. A family enters a restaurant when their young son loses part of his toy and crawls under tables to get it. When he is handed his toy he and the toy disappear. The search is on for the missing boy and heavy snow has closed many roads.

Then a stranded car is found with a father, mother and two children, the parents survive the children don’t. Steven and Hu Metcalf believe they know who the kidnapper is, Krampus but getting others to believe it is difficult.

When their son also disappears Steven, Hu and Deputy Davis work together to destroy the monster and find Steven and Hu’s son, but they need permission from the mayor who can’t be bothered. One horror after another.

Thirteen different authors have written stand-alone horror short stories for this series and if they are anything like this one read in the daytime with all the lights on.
