Morgan Faulkner is a historian who has come to England to search for Britain’s real Arthur. Her father died recently, and she is determined to finish his research and find the answers that he wanted to find.
Morgan began by visiting Tintagel, the site of the castle. While there she met John MacQuarrie, leading a tour group. She felt a connection to him, but her father’s research came before anything else.
John was attracted to Morgan as soon as he saw her and tried to convince her to join his tour and to find him at the inn he is staying at. He left her a card with the address. Morgan never looked at the card and wound up in the same inn as John and his group. Was it coincidence or something more.
Morgan keeps rejecting John’s attempts at meeting him so they can get to know each other better but she only has a limited amount of time before she returns home and the research into Arthur is her priority. John keeps having images of Morgan in a long dress with her hair hanging long and loss and Morgan keeps questioning her fascination with a man she just met.
Finally, Morgan gives in and follows John and his tour with a feeling that they have known each other in the past even though she tells herself it is impossible. Then one of the tour group a young woman named Kristen reveals to her the dreams she has had, and they are very similar to Morgan’s.
Morgan keeps hearing voices calling out her name when there is no one around. John keeps trying to convince her that they should get to know each other better especially since they both feel a connection. Morgan wants to give in to John’s wishes, but she is scared.
Morgan finally joins John and the tour and everywhere they go she keeps hearing voices telling her to stay and to come whether she is called. She begins to believe it is Arthur and is determined to find answers but every time she sees him; she is left with more questions.
Morgan is worried she is going insane, but John is willing to stand by her despite everything. There are secrets and some very huge surprises that I never saw coming. There is a metaphysical twist to the book which made for some interesting reading.
