All Reese wants to do is get home for the holidays and forget the hellacious break-up she just endured. With her plans (and locks) changed at the last minute, Reese has to fly standby across the country and hope that her slapdash travel plans will get her home in time for Christmas.

Derrick has his Christmas (and his life) perfectly planned. A quick cross-country business trip will be concluded on December 23rd, allowing him to make it from San Francisco to Pine Ridge, New York in plenty of time, even if something goes wrong.

But what if everything goes wrong? That seems to be what happens when cheerfully chaotic Reese ends up sharing a flight with meticulous Derrick. When their flight is canceled on the runway, the unlikely duo team up with one goal in mind—to make it home for Christmas, no matter what it takes.

What it takes is everything Derrick hates—spur-of-the-moment hijinks, well-meaning white lies, red-eye flights, and hotel rooms with only one bed. He can feel his carefully controlled life unraveling…and it may be the best Christmas present he’s ever gotten. But can he make Reese realize that their once-in-a-lifetime trip is the start of true love and not just a Christmas fling or a romantic rebound?

This was a perfect Christmas romance filled with the rush and hustle of getting home for Christmas. Reese Brittijn’s boyfriend threw her out and had the locks changed, now she must deal with a bunch of suitcases and a plane ride to Pine Ridge where her parents live. While waiting for the plane she sits next to a man, Derrick Walters, and begins to reveal her story while carrying a bunch of snacks and candy that spills everywhere.

Derrick is a man take makes lists for everything, and Reese is a woman who just goes with the flow and usually messes up. When they find themselves sitting next to each other on the plane he figures he will get more than he bargained for with her and he was so right.

The plane trip is cancelled and now Reese and Derrick must figure out a way to get home in time for Christmas dinner with their families and it is almost Christmas Eve time is running out. No cars to rent, all trains and planes booked Reese comes up with an idea one of many she will make on their way home.

This was a very cute story about a woman who doesn’t let something as simple as no more cars, no room at the inn and no seats on the train stop her. Derrick is along for the ride and loving every minute of it with a woman who gets him involved in things he never would have done on his own.

Every visit to Pine Ridge is an adventure even when it involves “Normals”, and I love every visit.
