Dr. Rory Milner is just beginning to understand what it takes to survive an ER residency. In his second year, he’s changed programs to gain additional experience. But not only does he need to manage the ins and outs of the ER, Rory also needs to navigate around his brother, a charge nurse, who feels Rory should toe his line, especially when it comes to Garth, one of the ER nurses.
As a nurse in the ER, Garth West has pretty much seen it all. But a new resident captures his attention, not only because he’s good-looking, but because Rory seems to care and really listens to the people who come into the ER. He also respects Garth and the rest of the nursing staff.
As Rory and Garth work together, they realize that a series of incidents involving botched cosmetic procedures may be related. Working together to uncover the source, they grow closer as attraction and trust grow into something deeper. Rory and Garth will need to stand together when what they find could end their careers and split them apart.

Dr. Rory Milner is an ER Resident in Baltimore and living with his older brother and pregnant sister-in-law. Apartments are very expensive and despite the constant badgering by his brother who is a charge nurse in the pediatric department he has no choice but to stay with his brother. Rory is in his second year of residency with very little time for anything but work.
One night a woman is brought into the ER with severe pain and is diagnosed with a serious infection due to plastic surgery for a Brazilian butt lift. It was at the same time Rory saw the ER nurse, Garth assisting him on the case and although he had no intention of pursuing a relationship withsomeone, he worked with he was captivated by him. Both men are dedicated to the patients and ensuring they receive the best care possible but when two more women come in with the same pain in their stomach after having the same plastic surgery procedure they begin to investigate. The same doctor has done all the operations and Garth and Rory have no doubt other women will be in danger but who do you tell and what would happen to them once they revealed everything.
Now the doctor and the nurse begin a relationship knowing full well the danger that could create and discuss their suspicions about the plastic surgeon endangering his patients. The doctor Rory and Garth are trying to get evidence against has friends in high places including the Chief of Medicine at the hospital they both work at. Doing the right thing is not always easy especially when careers are in jeopardy and having other medical personnel hating you and calling you a traitor.
This is Mr. Grey’s new series that centers around medical residents who work long hours in their desire to finally succeed in being doctors. Most of us at one time or another have been treated by residents in a hospital without realizing how difficult their lives are. In Garth and Rory’s position what would we do if facing the same circumstances, tell the truth or keep silent.
I have loved every book I have read by Mr. Grey and there were many, many of them and I am still in awe at his ability to write so many books each with a unique take on various topics, so I give this book like all the others five stars, and I give Andrew Grey five stars for being an author that always manages to elicit such emotion from me.
