Marcus Peterson is a portrait artist who was showing some of his paintings at a gallery when a man revealed he wanted to buy the three paintings he was displaying at the same time Commision him to do a portrait for billionaire Jasper Carmichael.
He is taken to a private island in the Bahamas where he meets Jasper and the man he is to paint. The man is August, handsome and with a unique tattoo which is what he is supposed to focus on. It doesn’t take long before Marcus realizes that August is Jasper’s boy toy and things take a turn for the worse.
Marcus and August are attracted to each other but Jasper has cameras everywhere, so pursuit of a relationship is out of the question in addition to being dangerous. All Marcus wants to do is finish the painting and return home but Jasper keeps delaying Marcus with fishing trips, delays in work and taking August off schedule.
There are secrets and surprises and although this was not a very long book it was an easy read and interesting.
