The lines between shifters and humans are blurring, and the journey of discovery that began when a lion, a tiger, and a bear found each other—and learned that mates exist—has taken a new direction. More mates are finding each other, and three seems to be the charm.

Brick, a powerful polar bear shifter, and his kitty shifter mate Aric are part of a shifter/human team searching for the camp where their third mate, Seth Miles, has been taken. Since Dellan’s rescue from his stepbrother’s clutches, the team has learned the horrifying truth behind the Geran faction’s plan to capture and imprison shifters and ensure bloodline purity.

They also have another shifter to rescue from the same camp: Seth’s father, Jake Carson. Except Jake is Dellan’s father too, captured by the Gerans three decades ago and until recently, believed to be dead. The camp is like a fortress, and the rescue operation is looking like an impossible quest.

What no one anticipated was help from an unexpected source. Dellan is about to learn why the power-hungry Gerans took his father in the first place--and what they want next.

In this latest installment of Lions, Tigers & Bears, K.C. Wells doubles down on the intrigue… and the passion.

Aric is a kitty, and his mate is Seth a human with psychic powers. They are prisoners of the
Geran faction of shifters who believe that shifters are superior to humans and should rule. They capture shifters who they can use for breeding increasing their army and they use the lower shifters for use as weapons. They will tie bombs on their backs and send them into enemy territory.
Aric and Seth know that there is a third mate out there and try sending him mind messages asking him for help. They don’t know who or what he is only they need him. Unfortunately, before they can find their mate Seth and Aric are separated and Aric finds himself alone. A mission to destroy the camp he is in and save the shifters being held frees Aric and he finds himself in the hands of his other mate, a polar bear shifter named Brick.
Brick is someone who can’t control himself and is willing to do anything to find his missing mate. He doesn’t think about himself and puts himself in dangerous situations leading to constant injuries and close situations that could kill him. Aric is constantly trying to make him understand that if he gets killed, he will leave Aric alone and no one has information on what happens if one mate is killed and what effect it has on the mate or mates left behind.
Seth finds his father Jake Carson in the same camp as him and both have psychic powers that the Geran want access to. They are constantly being tested, and Aric can hear Seth’s screams. Since Seth and Aric have been together, they can see and feel what is happening to them through their bond.
Finding the camp Seth and Jake are in proves to be close to impossible, it is like finding a needle in a haystack. In addition to the testing done on him Jake is used for breeding leading him to discover another son at the camp that is also a prisoner. Shifters believe that mates are fiction, but more and more are finding their mates, but the Geran hold to the belief that mates are a lie.
Two factions the Geran and the Fridan’s are at war with each other. Both with totally different outlooks on shifter behavior, Geran believe that shifters should not be with humans and the Fridan’s welcome humans.
While trying to find the camp with Seth, Jake and Jamie they receive help from a very unexpected source. They also find themselves being betrayed by one of their own who is willing to do anything to save his mate.
There is violence, rape in forcing breeding and secrets and lies. The book ends with some questions unanswered which hopefully will be answered in the next book. The characters are wonderful especially a kitty named Aric who in his shifter form is small enough to hide in places he shouldn’t be.
