Beware of charming warlocks with offers too good to be true and too dangerous to refuse.

ERIN
For some, Sedona is an enchanting place to commune with red rocks and mystical vortexes. For me, it’s home, and my biggest goal is to climb the career ladder — literally — by becoming a hot air balloon pilot. But my dreams hit a snag when a trio of unexpected visitors shows up. Because those visitors aren’t exactly human, and they’re not just in town for the scenery. Suddenly, I’m dealing with...

…a handsome, hollow-eyed shifter — my grouchy new colleague.
…a charismatic warlock with an offer that’s too good to be true and too dangerous to refuse.
…a seductive vampiress with a thirst for power — and the same taste in men as me (no pun intended).

Before I know it, I’m thrust into the middle of a supernatural showdown over land, power, and love. And I'm not just fighting for my job or my heart, but for everything I hold dear: my ranch, my life, and my family.

NASH
Burned out? On the run from my past? As a dragon shifter, I prefer to call it a little time-out. A low-key job as ground crew for a local balloon company sounds perfect, but I wasn’t counting on Erin, my fiery, tough-talking boss whose troubles — and talents — run deeper than they first seem. Wind and fire behave strangely around her, and I doubt it’s freak weather patterns that have been stirring up a recent spate of storms.

Erin has managed to attract powerful enemies, but she’s not alone. With a ranch brimming with magic, her quirky sisters, and her Harley-riding warlock father, she’s got some strong allies — including me. So much for not to getting involved or falling in love…

I wasn’t planning on staying in town for long, but with all the strange twists of fate that brought me here, I’m starting to think I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. “All” I have to do to ride into the sunset with the woman of my dreams is to vanquish my foes — and fears.

Erin Sattler and her two stepsisters live on the ranch left to them by their great-aunt, each one raised bytheir fathers since their mother left them after they were born just a few weeks later. The girls all come from a magical family and despite that they have no magical abilities.

Erin works as the ground crew chief for a balloon company and is one hour short of getting her pilot license. When she arrives at work her boss informs her that they have a new crew member, Nash, who Erin met the night before. Their meeting was acrimonious since Nash tried to warn Erin about getting involved with a warlock, a warlock she was embracing but she ignored him.

Now she is his boss and hates him especially after Nash discovers that the warlock was her father. Nash is a dragon shifter who came to Sedona to get his head clear after leaving the Marines and resigning from the Agency for the Detection and Monitoring of Supernatural Activity (ADMSA), a simple job and a quiet place is just what the doctored ordered.

When she meets Harlon Greene, a man she recognizes as a warlock she has no idea that the meeting was not accidental. Harlon invites Erin to his home for a party where she meets Angelina, a vampire and Harlon’s business associate. Harlon tries to control her mind, but she can block him. She knows he is after the family ranch and while sneaking into his office she comes face to face with Nash trying to stop her before she is discovered.

When Nash sees Angelina, he knows he is in trouble, she worked for the agency when he met her and fell under her spell finding himself with bite marks and now is her slave. She will always know where he is and can take control of his actions.

Nash and Erin come to an agreement to work together, and Nash reveals his previous job as an agent for ADMSA, Erin calls them BDSM because Angelina and Harlon are a danger, she is a monster and Harlon is a class 2 warlock, 1 being the highest. Saving the ranch and keeping her sisters safe is Erin’s primary goal and her dislike for Nash has turned into lust.

Harlon and Angelina use all their powers to get Erin to sell but so far, she has successfully managed to survive with Nash’s help. She discovers that Nash is a dragon shifter and after accusing him of lying to her that he was a wolf shifter she once again forgives him.

The battle to save the ranch becomes deadly and Nash, Erin and her sisters must use what little magic they realize they have to come out ahead. Suspense, lies, sex, surprises kept this book a must read for me and there are two more sisters whose stories need to be told, can’t wait.

I never realized what it takes to control the balloons since there is no engine, so the ground crew play a very important role.
