Sixteen-year-old Zach discovers his mom is a fairy godmother. But what’s really freaking him out is the fact that he’s a fairy too.

Now that his mom’s been injured, he must finish her assignments before the next full moon or they’re both grounded, meaning no wings, no wands, and no position in the Organization of Destiny Fulfillment (ODF).

Sure it would suck to lose his newfound powers, but Zach quickly learns there’s far more at stake. Failure also means messing up the lives of the people he’s supposed to help.Forever.

Between a fairy-trainee who happens to be the girl he’s been in love with since fifth grade, a boss he doesn’t trust, and a gremlin physics teacher that wants to eat him, Zach’s pretty sure even a magic wand can't bail him out.

Sixteen-year-old Zacharias (Zach) Slater is your average teen. He has had a crush on Jenna Macintyre since he was ten, but she just ignores him except to tease and embarrass him. After school he returns home to find his mother is gone and a strange woman with wings is standing in his bedroom. That was when he went from being an average teen to discovering that he is Fae, and his mother is a Fairy Godmother.

Zach is half Fae and half human, something his mother failed to tell him for sixteen years and now he is being called on to take her place as a Destiny Fulfillment Support Liaison and complete her assignments by sunset of the full moon. To say that he felt like he was in the Twilight Zone would be putting it mildly. Suddenly he is an acting Fairy Godmother, has wings, a wand and must fulfill his mother’s assignments or the wings that were stolen from her would not be replaced and there is a risk of her dying.

He has three assignments which when he researched them did not seem impossible, a girl Kelly needs to meet her soulmate, and a boy, Chance needs to find his. His third assignment turns out to be Jenna, the girl he has had a crush on since he was ten. As if he hasn’t got enough to deal with it, it seems that Jenna is a Fairy Godmother in training and his mother was the one responsible for it. Jenna is not happy to have Zach as her mentor but with some begging Zach finally gets her to agree to help him.

Kelly is supposed to meet the football star at her HS, Bo but she is much more interested in Zach, oh right another unknown thing is Fairy Charm and if he can’t control it people will all try to get his attention, Jenna helps but he keeps wondering when the next surprise will arise. Kelly’s soulmate turns out to be a disgusting excuse for a male and no way would Zach try bringing them together.

Chance is a drug user, gay and propositions Zach. Chance threatens suicide so Zach sticks close to him till he figures out what he needs. Two out of three assignments look hopeless, and his mother’s life hangs in the balance. He is refused access to her so getting her help is another impossibility. What is Zach going to do all his attempts to reach his mom and get answers puts him deeper and deeper in trouble.

Zach is between a rock and a hard place; he is learning about being a Fairy Godmother while trying to fulfill his mom’s assignments all while learning that there is more Fae in his school than he ever could have expected. His physics teacher, another student and the more he learns the more secrets he uncovers. There are enemies using his ignorance about the rules of the Fae and helping people find their soulmates leaving him unsure of who to trust.

He knows that there is a betrayer in the DFSL, but who? His mom goes missing, he puts his trust in the wrong Fae which jeopardizes his position and his mom’s. And he has begun to really like having a wand and wings. He discovers the existence of the Unseelie and Seelie, the good and evil of the Fae world.

What an amazing story filled with secrets, surprises, betrayal, lies and Good vs. Evil. Zach’s life is turned upside down, but he soon learns why his assignments were impossible and who was responsible. Jenna also learns secrets about her life which were mind-blowing, but she has Zach to lean on. There is an entirely new world facing Zach, but he must survive against enemies he never saw coming.

I started the book late at night never figuring that I would become so engrossed that before I knew it the book was finished and it was now early morning, but it was well worth it.
