Libby Ingersol loves Pine Ridge, but it’s lonely being the new girl in town. As another Valentine’s Day looms, single Libby is desperate to get out and mingle. When she tries the Pine Ridge club scene, things go wildly wrong.

Libby grew up very poor with no father figure and when her mother died, she was sent to live with her aunt. She was able to go to college to become a veterinarian tech and when she met two other pupils, they gave her a place where she could find an affordable way to live in Pine Ridge, NY. She couldn’t wait to leave and go out on her own and found work as a vet tech with Dr. Peterson who she began to think of as a father figure.
Libby is unaware of the fact that Pine Ridge is not your normal town, it is a town where humans and supernaturals manage to live together. Most humans like Libby pay no attention to differences they see around them, and the other humans are aware of who their neighbors are. Although Libby does notice some strange things, she chalks it up to her imagination. One night after working late she discovers the night market and the fudge stand. It was there that Milo; a minotaur saw her and fell in love. She is his dream girl but doubts very much that he would be her dream man.
Libby becomes aware of a feral mother cat and her kittens and with winter approaching they have no chance of survival. In addition to that, two of the kittens have been abandoned by the mother. Searching in the cold she gets sick, and Milo resumes the search with Dr. Peterson knowing it will make Libby happy. The two abandoned kittens wind up in Milo’s house where he dotes on them and fattens them up. He offers to give them to Libby but how can he do that without revealing who and what he is.
Libby is still living in a world where she believes everything is normal and when she is asked out on a date by a gorgeous man she can’t accept fast enough. The gorgeous man is an incubus and when he talks about eating, she has no idea he means her. The date turns out with Libby finding herself feeling drugged and fortunately despite his desire to meet her under different circumstances Milo hears her and knows exactly what is going on. He had brought the kittens for her but got the wrong date thanks to the kittens erasing part of the message.
As Libby comes out of the fog that she was in she sees Milo and does not show fear or disgust, in fact she immediately grabs and holds on to him. Milo’s dream girl might want him, dreams do sometimes come true but is she back to her normal self. An incubus feeds off humans and leaves them in a drugged state, too much feeding and they leave them dead.
Libby finally learns about the people at the night market, vampires, incubi, satyrs, and creatures she thought were only in books or movies. She has entered a whole new world and has found comfort in a minotaur, huge, hairy and gentle as a teddy bear. Always feeling like a stray, she now has a chance at having a family, a boyfriend and possibly children, but is it all too good to be true.
Romance, a loveable minotaur and a woman who has always felt alone, sex, and a chance at a HEA made this book one I couldn’t put down.
