Rachel Reeves is on her way to Chicago for a casting call to be a runway model for Gucci, but that trip would change her life forever. Three years ago, Rachel lost the love of her life, bear shifter Michael Malone. Michael and Rachel were at a resort and Michael dressed as Santa flew down the mountain never to be seen again.

All efforts to find Michael failed and Rachel has never forgotten him. The plane she was on crashed and for two days she travelled down the mountain hoping to find help. She was hungry, cold and getting hopeless until a skier nearly knocked into her. The skier was Michael, so she kissed him and slapped him, but Michael had no memory of her.

She finds herself in a village called Melinor and the mountain was Frost Mountain, a place she had never heard of before. She found herself in a cabin on the floor with the Village Chief looking out for her. All she wants is to see Michael again but finding him would create an entire new set of problems, Michael has amnesia. He remembers a lot but nothing that has to do with his relationship with Rachel.

She is determined to help him get his memory back, but he may never remember. Although he has a strong feeling towards her, to him she is a stranger. While trying to help Michael remember Rachel learns the secrets of Frost Mountain, a magical prison with only a one-way portal. Everyone in Melinor has no way out.

Now Rachel has found her long lost lover and with no memory Michael is still lost to her. She also must adjust to living in a place that shouldn’t exist. There are very few luxuries in Melinor and it is a place where time has stopped. Every attempt to bring back Michael’s memory is a failure, and she must accept that it is never coming back.

This was a beautiful story about a woman who is reunited with her lost love only to find that lover has no memory of her. Amnesia is something that tears a life apart and I can’t imagine how sad that is. Will Michael get his memory back, will Rachel get her lover back, well I won’t reveal the answers to those questions but highly recommend you read this book it is wonderful.
