Yann Benetynn is a merman who is always breaking clan rules. Yann refuses to allow a human to drown if he can save them and when he saves Alex Williams he has no idea how that simple act will change his life.
It has been eight months since Alex nearly drowned and eight months of nightmares.In spite of her fear of water she is returning to the Morvann Islands to fulfill her grandmother’s dream of writing a book about them. Alex is determined to overcome her fear and take photos for her grandmother’s book even though she is returning to where she nearly drowned.
It turns out that the boat she hired is captained by none other than Yann and he immediately recognizes her. He also agrees to be her guide another no no in the clan book of rules. It doesn’t take long before the attraction between them becomes too much to deal with and they both give into their feelings. Of course Yann who will one day be the head of the Benetynn clan knows that there is no future for them since marriage between mermen and humans is also forbidden.
This was not a long book and I don’t want to give too much away in this review but I will say that this is a beautiful forbidden love story and not lacking in some clan rivalry and danger. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
