Abriette is a warrior, a winter elf fighting for the survival of her people on the dark side of Summerland. She has one mission, to cross the veil into the world of man and find the last true believer, the wisher who can restore their winter magic. According to legend, only his blood can save them, but he is nothing like she expects. His music threatens to melt her cold heart and the strange feelings he inspires might jeopardize everything.
Darren Slater is down on his luck, way down, but not out, not yet. Unwilling to give up on his songwriting dream, he makes a desperate holiday wish that his music might make a difference. But magic doesn't happen overnight, and he still has to eat, so he accepts a part time gig as a mall Santa in Los Angeles.
He never expected to fall for one of his elves.
This is a standalone story with a happy ending! Merry Christmas!

Darren Slater has always dreamed of being a famous musician but he finds himself playing in a half empty bar barely making enough to pay his rent. One night leaving the bar and feeling totally despondent he wishes upon a star asking for help and praying his wish will be answered. Darren had no idea that his wish would reach through the veil to the dark side of Summerland the home of the winter elves.
Abrietta (Brie) has spent her life as a warrior protecting her home and people so when her father the Ice King calls upon her to go through the veil to the human side and find the Wisher whose blood according to a centuries old prophecy would be the answer to her people’s survival she doesn’t hesitate. There have been no children born for centuries, their magic is disappearing if Brie can’t find the Wisher all hope is lost and her life if she fails would also be lost. Her death would eventually happen one way or the other but failure would mean a painful death a death she would gladly accept if she can’t save her people.
Crossing the veil Brie finds herself in Los Angeles with no idea who the Wisher is or even if it is a male or female but she is sure that she is in the right place after all it is Christmas and all around her people are making wishes. No money, no place to stay she finds herself being mistaken for the elf assisting Santa Clause a job she accepts with the hope she will find the Wisher and of course who is playing Santa none other than Darren.
Darren and Brie feel a strong connection to one another and he comes to her rescue giving her a place to stay and agreeing to help her find the Wisher. Neither of them is aware of the connection they have to each other and this is where I stop revealing what happens and what happens is wonderful and should be left up to you to read.
A wonderful short story filled with hope, sacrifice and love. Couldn’t put it down till I found out what happened between Brie and Darren and I am sure you will feel the same way.
