After nine months of relative peace and now fully dae, Envy is four days past her due date and beyond ready for the damned kid to move out and get a job.

But when the warden for the wild hunt shows up with an offer she can’t refuse—well, not without plunging the planet into chaos—her impending motherhood takes a back seat.

Then incriminating photos surface, throwing her baby daddy's fidelity into question. In the midst of the ensuing drama, he disappears, forcing Envy to make a choice. Will she stand by him, or cozy back up to the man who held her heart way back in Biblical times?

Get ready, because when the truth comes out, even Hell will feel the fury of a goddess scorned.

Envy is now full fae, nine months pregnant with the bastard, her term for the baby, a baby she never wanted but Brennan ignored. Now all she wants is for the baby to come out already, but she is unaware of what it would mean to her. Since she refused to marry Brennan because she shares her body with Lilith who hated Adam and was turned off by marriage, she is now a free agent and must pick a consort and her choices are the Gwinth the warden over the huntsmen. If she doesn’t agree to let him court her he will begin to free the huntsmen and that would be a disaster. Hundreds of blood thirsty psychopaths.

The other one fighting for the right to court her is the All Father sharing the body with Kyle, once her lover. Both prospects are unacceptable to her, but the only other choice is marrying Brennan. She hates the Gwinth and is repulsed by the idea of being close to him, Kyle she doesn’t hate but she can’t say the same about the All Father.

When the baby is finally born it is a boy and she finds herself having maternal feelings for a child she kept referring to as bastard. His name is Rhys and although she enjoys holding him and being around him diapering and breast feeding not so much. It takes no time for Rhys true nature to show when Brennan and Envy argue, and he turns into a fiend like his father and nearly destroys the room.

Between Envy whose powers are coming back, Brennan who is a fiend and their newborn also a fiend the three of them can do a whole lot of damage and as usual Envy is the one that messes up. Realizing what she faces, Envy finally agrees to marry Brennan, only this time he is the one that postpones the plans. He has made a bargain and must see it through.

Gwinth must have an heir and he doesn’t hesitate to use whatever underhanded means to get what he wants. Envy is not without babysitters for Rhys, even her snake Socks, the very same snake from the Garden of Eden protects the baby.

I loved this book, secrets, lies, violence, and overall craziness. The book is told in first person by Envy, and it is like listening to someone narrate a story. She questions the reader as if it was live and it was a hoot, she also manages to create havoc while innocently asking “can you blame me”.

This series should be read in order, and I highly recommend doing so. The violence, and there are some very gory moments is offset by Envy who brings light to a dark story.
