Hunter Fitz has settled into his life in Riverside, spending time with Kacey and gearing up for his second semester of teaching at Boulder University. Everything seems to be going just fine—Hunter both embracing the darkness and keeping it at bay—until his past slams back into his life in the form of someone he'd thought he'd lost forever.

It's difficult enough to discover that Austin is alive after spending two decades thinking he was dead. But when Hunter learns that Austin is Kacey's father, the darkness threatens to consume him, and he might lose Austin all over again.

Until Hunter learns Austin's secret, and Hunter decides he's going to have everything he wants, no matter what it takes.

**This book contains content of a taboo nature.**

(Note: This story takes place in a fictional world, the same as in the Shifting Isles Series. There are multiple gods, different names for the days of the week, etc. A glossary is included.)

Beware the Ides of March! It is so apt that this book was released on March 15th. This is the second in the series and is a direct continuation of book one. It is also a continuation of dark and taboo sexual themes. They are deliciously daring to say the least. Professor Hunter Fitz is still fighting his demons. He is also still feeding his lust with student and all around fabulously flamboyant Kacey Reynolds. Then therer is Austin, oh sweet Austin, who has been facing his own battles. A flirty Kacey has been his torment for years. Reconciling his feelings for his step-son with the horrors from his own past have caused him to pull away from Kacey as much as he can, while still offering him love and support. When Austin and Hunter finally figure out they share a connection to Kacey, over and above their pasts, this book really gets interesting!

This book was a bit lighter to me, a dark gray to the black of the first one. The amazing writing in this series really brings the reader along even when the subject matter is not easy to read. The taboo subject matter is dealt with in such a sensitive way, with the characters having their own genuine reactions to it. And now that I have these first two, I HAVE to read the last one. Just the knowledge that we finally get to know the back story of Austin and Hunter….I am gonna be poised to one-click this last book!
