Reeling from her boyfriend’s indiscretions at a party, Lacey Montgomery escapes into the throes of a torrential storm. Her car spins out of control and hurtles into the depths of an icy, black lake. She awakens in the arms of a handsome stranger, in a place she’s never heard of—thirty-four years before she was born.
Bobby Reynolds is smitten the moment the storm-ravaged woman opens her eyes. Learning the truth about her origin does nothing to stop the passion taking root in his heart and leaves him torn between finding a way to return Lacey to her time and convincing her stay with him.
Will the couple be able to discover the key to a mysterious portal before time rips them apart? Or will their spirits wander forever through a ghost town buried beneath the lake?

I can tell you up front that time travel romance is not my favorite genre to read, not because of the stories but the writing of it is usually done in such a way it leaves me frustrated as a reader in most cases (but not all).
If I had not agreed to review this book, I might have given up on it in the first few chapters since it goes back and forth in time which was frustrating for me as a reader but if I had I would have missed a wonderful story.
Lacey and Bobby are a most unlikely couple and I have to tell you that for the first 1/3 of the book in addition to not liking the format, I was really disliking her BUT once she realized she might have to spend the rest of her life in 1947 but scared to commit since she might get pulled back to 2012 it was a great story but she still was frustrating but I didn’t hate her anymore .
The back and forth slows down and the reading becomes easier as the book progresses and then you have a shadowy plot that you cannot make heads or tails of until you get close to the end which added a bit to the plot and the ending.
Bottom Line: It was a great story, the telling got better as the book progressed and the hero and heroine start to become the people you wanted them to be ……. Until the plot twist (sorry, don’t do spoilers)
