I have been blessed by finding Roan Parrish years ago. Whenever I am looking for a romance to read I can never feel unsatisfied reading her work. I saw this book released last year and purchased it; Covid got in the way with my concentration….So it wasn’t until Amazon sent me info that Book #2 in this series was coming out. I had to read them and plowed through both of them!
We meet Jack Matheson who is stranded living alone, in the wooded country house with a broken leg. He is in need of a dog walker owning 4 dogs and 3 cats…..Jack heart melts and rescue’s pets.
Simon Burke is animal friendly, does not do well with human’s suffering from extreme anxiety his entire life…….Could this get any better?????
Simon cannot have a pet where he lives and from sheer loneliness turns to a PetShare App. Jack has realized he cannot and won’t rely on his brother to take care of him thru this leg debacle and needs someone to help with his animals; putting a Dog walker ad in PetShare.
The ad is answered and the job is accepted. Each does not realize what this meeting has done. The reader is ready for the simply sweet story that only Roan Parrish can bring. Annnd she does!!!
Written in both POV’s we are privy to the most shuttered thoughts of Simon. We anguish over his fears and watch as touch sets him free. Jack was floored when Simon came the first time at the most beautiful man he had ever seen….Can he make Simon feel this? What happens when the cast comes off….How will their life be?
Better Than People is the culmination of what could happen if…….all the stars aligned. Well it did and we read it …It is such a “sweet experience”……… I’ve set it aside to read again. Wonderful story….Do not miss it
