For two successful actors, the convention circuit’s part of the job, but for Jason and Colby, it’s a challenge.
Jason’s been a convention guest before. But he’s never let himself relax and enjoy it, too busy being an action hero to indulge his dice-rolling, fantasy-loving, science-fiction geek side. And Colby loves the idea of conventions, but has never been to one. He’s not comfortable with crowds and contact and demands, especially not these days.

The cover for Celebrations is one of the reasons why I have a color e-reader. The image gives the reader something to contemplate and hints at what is inside the story in a subtle way. I appreciate book covers that tell a story. If the cover has something interesting to say, then hopefully the story inside has even more interesting things to share. For this story, the idea holds true.
Jason and Colby, the main characters, are from the Character Bleed series , but this short story works well as a stand alone. I have not read the rest of the series yet, but the interactions between Colby and Jason sparked my interest in reading more. These two have a strong connection that fluctuates from sweet to steamy. Like the characters, the setting held my attention. This story takes place in one of my favorite environments, a fan convention in Seattle. K.L. Noone does a wonderful job of capturing the joy, tension, community, and chaos that fan conventions often hold.
This short story was an engaging peek into Cody and Jason’s lives that left me curious about how they became a couple. Since there is mention of raindrops, cold, Seattle, blankets, and cookies, I recommend that you grab this book the next time you need a hot cocoa break. Go easy on the sugar and marshmallows though. This story is sweet enough by itself.
