Owen Hart’s wits—and his supernatural ability to read others’ emotions—give him an edge at the poker table, but his luck runs out when he gets hauled in to explain his suspicious success to the owner of Spades Casino. Or does it?

Leo Ellis is a successful businessman and criminal who launders money for other mobsters. Owen fascinates him. Sensing there is more to the man than meets the eye, Leo offers him a job as a waiter/sex-optional escort and moves Owen in.

But things get complicated when Leo’s fascination deepens into something else, and then even more so when they fall into bed together.

Having dealt with years of drama and secrecy, Owen feels vulnerable opening up to Leo. The whirlwind romance also puts Leo into a position that he never anticipated. Their emotions are tested further when Leo's most dangerous rival kidnaps Owen to use as a bargaining chip. Will Leo and his men be able to rescue him and keep him safe? Will Leo's second-in-command ever get enough of Owen's cupcakes? With any luck, love may be in the cards at Spades.

On a very dark foggy night Michael Constantine saw two boats close to each other, one large and one smaller. He found it suspicious for two boats to be out in dangerous weather but with the fog so thick his visibility was very poor, so poor that he didn’t realize how close he was to the edge until he landed on his butt.

That was Michael’s first meeting with DEA contractor, Thorsen Magnus who wound up standing over him, sizing him up. As first impressions went, this one hit the hot mark, two handsome men both packing what the other wanted and so it began.

Thor missed the drop off for the drugs he was there to watch, the drop off that Michael witnessed and was more than willing to help Thor. Drugs are being dropped off by boats and one of the boats just happened to be abandoned. A search proved successful when the remnants of drugs were found but before anymore search could happen the boat was picked up and disappeared.

Michael works for his father’s company and is an architect. His father’s company is very rich, but his father is not liked. He has no idea what Michael does and how successful he is but Michael’s brother, Peter, is the apple of his father’s eye and can do no wrong whereas Michael can do no right. Michael has accepted his place in the family but suspects that Peter is in trouble.

Michael found papers in Peter’s room pointing to his involvement with the boats dropping the drugs and it will take him and Thor to get to the bottom of it. Is his brother part of the drug ring? Just one question that needs to be answered.

Thor grew up in the very town he is now working in and where he met the man who rocks his boat but like Michael, he also has a problem with his father, a problem that sent him moving and changing his last name.

It was fun following Thor and Michael as they went about tracking the drug dealers, the way they tracked the boats that led them to certain individuals who could give them the information needed to get to the big shots.

As they worked to get answers their relationship grew and now the question is will Thor leave when all is discovered or is there a chance for their relationship to keep growing.

From beginning to end this book kept me glued, the desire for answers was what kept me from putting the book down until the end. Never boring, never slow moving and two amazing characters.
