After the death of her father, Lily Foster is the owner of Bloom & Grow Nursery. Lily lives in a small cottage on the nursery property and has worked hard to make her nursery one of a kind. She takes great pride in her plants and trees and is working to extend her merchandise. The only kink in her plans to move forward is a new zoning law that endangers her cottage and possibly her entire nursery. All those problems take a back seat when she takes Rhett Buchanan, the CEO of a billion dollar development firm to inspect the trees and plants ordered by his best friend Garrett, also his vice-president.
The attraction between Lily and Rhett is instant and electric. Since she has returned to the nursery wearing a sundress instead of her usual attire Rhett takes her as a rich customer. Rhett asks Lily on a date and since she is unaware of who he really is, she accepts. When she discovers he is a billionaire, she is ready to call the date off, but she decides it wouldn’t hurt to have one night as Cinderella with her Prince Charming.
The date wound up being a party at Rhett’s ex-girlfriend Delia’s home. That was the worst thing he could have done and was his first mistake. When Lily was leaving he stopped her and asked her to join him in New York, and she couldn’t say no. She was determined to reveal who she really is in New York but for some reason the right time never came. It didn’t take long for Delia, a rich bitter girl, determined to get Rhett back to dig into Lily’s background and discover who she really is. She goes out of her way to see to it that Rhett comes face to face with Lily in her nursery attire. He goes ballistic throwing all the plants and trees she had delivered to his home.
It would take the work of Garrett and Lily’s best friend Tammy to bring the two together but unfortunately Delia isn’t ready to let go of what she wants and Rhett is going to be with her no matter what. Now that Rhett believes that Lily is just another gold-digger after his money, Delia has the perfect opportunity to get him back. However, she had no idea of the feelings he had for Lily and how in spite of being angry with her he can’t totally get over her.
Whether or not Cinderella and her Prince Charming get together in this book is something you will have to read for yourself. I promise you won’t be disappointed. Right now I am finishing this review and picking up book two which is Garrett’s story and I can’t wait.
