A year ago, lovers Benedict Boyd and Beatrice Sharpe, lead singers of the rock band, B & B + 3, made Hollywood history with a spectacular break up at Hotel Caliwood that ended with Beatrice in the pool, ruining a wildly expensive designer dress. Beatrice dropped off the grid, leaving the band without a lyricist.

After a year on the road, Benedict and the band are back in Hollywood, preparing to go into the studio to record a much-anticipated album to resurrect the singer’s tainted fame. Although Benedict is a genius with music, he’s a disaster with lyrics. If he can’t deliver completed songs for the album, his band’s future is in jeopardy.

Back at Hotel Caliwood, Benedict encounters Beast, a mysterious, harpy poetess who’s taken up residence in the abandoned library. Following a prickly beginning, the two forge a musical partnership that promises to save the band.

To his surprise, Benedict forms an attachment to Beast which blossoms into unexpected affection. Unbeknownst to Benedict, any possibility of a future for the unconventional pair is tainted by the curse slapped on Beast by a jealous enchantress.

Will help from the ghosts of Hotel Caliwood and Beast’s beautiful lyrics allow Benedict to let go of his past and embrace this new love, or will he turn away, dooming Beast to remain a harpy forever?

The snap and spice of Much Ado About Nothing meets a gender swap Beauty and the Beast in this enemies to lovers, rockstar romantasy set at Hollywood’s haunted Hotel Caliwood.

It has been a year since the explosive fight between Beatrice Sharp and Benedict Boyd which brought an end to the band B ‘n B + 3. Not only did the name of the band change to Ben and the Boulevard Bunch but Benedict lost the love of his life when Beatrice disappeared. After a year touring Europe hoping to put the fight behind them Benedict and the band return home to Hotel Caliwood in Hollywood.

Beatrice was the one with the beautiful lyrics and Benedict wrote the music, now Benedict is unable to put one decent word of lyrics down on paper and they are releasing a new album soon. Benedict is still unable to put what happened between him and Beatrice behind him and each day he wonders why she just left without a goodbye and why his love for her is stronger than ever.

Benedict’s deadline for new music is getting closer and if he can’t produce lyrics to his music he and the band would no longer exist. It was Hero the owner of the hotel and publishing company that would come to the rescue, but the rescue would introduce him to Beast, a Harpy (half woman and half bird). Beast writes beautiful poetry and is willing to work with Benedict and put words to his music. Despite his hesitancy in accepting Beasts help he is between a rock and a hard place and has no choice.

There is a secret that Benedict is unaware of, Beast is Beatrice and was cursed to be a Harpy. A songbook sits under a dome and as soon as the band returned the pages began to drop. When the last page drops Beatrice will remain forever the way she is. She must get Benedict to love her to break the curse but there is a young girl that would keep her from trying to get his love, a young child being used by the evil that cursed her, a child she needs to save.

Hotel Caliwood is known for being the home of ghosts and they try hard to help Beast win Benedict’s love, but the monsters live side by side with them. The lyrics that Beast writes are a huge success and Benedict’s feelings for Beast grow. He begins to overlook the fact that she is a Harpy and sees a sweet, loving and a beautiful soul.

Beatrice realizes that if she shows any interest in Benedict it will mean deserting the small child she is forced to scare nightly and bottle her tears. Being a Harpy for life is something she is willing to accept to save an innocent life. All of the trouble, the curse and losing the love of her life stemmed from the horrible fight she had with Benedict a fight he blames himself for and a fight she blames herself for.

Two people who love each other and blame themselves for the end of their relationship have a chance for a do over but it comes down to saving a child or ending the curse. It is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast only this time the beast is female and rose petals dropping are now songs dropping.

We all know what happened with Beauty and the Beast, they had their HEA but will that be the case in this story of curses and love. Beatrice and Benedict are wonderful and deserving of a HEA but unlike the original story the one who cursed her is just a room away.
