For all of you readers that are like me and love, love, love the Knights of the Black Swan series than like me you will be thrilled that the series is being reborn with a new generation.
Kristoph Falcon is one of the new Knights and he has successfully managed to overcome the disaster of becoming obsessed with the last Director of Operations. His obsession with her nearly cost him everything and now when he enters Operations and sees the new Director he sees himself once again in danger of repeating his past behavior. Gretchan Galen doesn’t get to introduce herself to Falcon since as soon as he sees her he makes his exit.
Although we will be meeting a new generation of Knights the ones we have come to know and love have once again been called back from retirement. An antidote that was supposed to cure the vampire virus has mutated and is resulting in a new and more resilient strain. These vampires don’t only drain their victims of blood but they mutilate and torture. In spite of Rosie’s offer of help her husband Glendennon Catch is afraid that she could trigger a universal armageddon if her powers become unleashed.
Out on patrol one night Falcon sees a shadow, a shadow that apparently did not mean harm but was helpful in pointing his team in the direction of vampires. This shadow is Jaxon a different type of vampire one that doesn’t kill for blood but takes a little and leaves his victims feeling a sense of pleasure. Jax is faster and smarter than the vampires the Knights are used to dealing with and his ability to survive their bite makes him a valuable asset if not a trustworthy one.
As a young man Jax was sent to the market to buy a new bull and find a wife but what he got was a new life as a vampires.
Falcon begins to see the light in regards to Gretchan and they both seem to feel a mutual attraction to one another. Can Jax help control the rising number of vampires? Will Falcon finally fall in love? As soon as a group of vampires are destroyed there seem to be twice as many to take their place the battle is just beginning and I for one can’t wait for more. This is one of my favorite series and I am so happy that it will keep on going. If you haven’t read the Knights of the Black Swan yet start from the beginning you won’t be sorry.
