This series has taken us through Europe in search of Fire Maidens and now it ends with the final Fire Maiden in Switzerland. I have read all the books in this series and loved each one my only regret is that it is over.
Heath Cauley is a bear shifter who is in Switzerland to start a new job as a bodyguard but when he meets a woman in a bar and spends a night with her his new job is the last thing on his mind because he found the woman his bear feels is his destiny.
Claudia Kaiser is the last of the naturally born Fire Maidens but that has led to her always being watched and led her to invent various ways to lose her protectors. She has proven very good at finding alone time and that is how she got free of her bodyguard and found herself having a one-night stand with Heath.
Like Heath she too can’t forget her time with the man who rocked her world but life returns to normal until she is introduced to her new bodyguard. YES! You guessed it destiny brought Heath and Claudia back together but she was determined to lose him every chance she got and she kept on trying with little success.
It takes the reappearance of Jacqueline d’Girnay the woman who has been targeting Fire Maidens throughout Europe and who is suddenly seeking asylum in Switzerland, that opens Claudia’s eyes to the danger facing her and her need for Heath, in more ways than one. Finally united by the need for each other Claudia and Heath are ready to face their destiny and their enemy.
This was a wonderful series filled with romance, sex, suspense and surprises. The characters were wonderful and one of the biggest surprises affected Heath and he never saw it coming. This is a series that I highly recommend to anyone who loves paranormal romance.
